On March 31st 1517, Martin Luther started first the Simple Revolution by posting his 95 these at Wittenberg's castle. These 95 theses argued for the power and efficacy of indulgences and explained the fundamentals of justification by faith. Thus opened the eyes of the people that had begun to query centuries of Catholic morals. Luther great supporters believed that the Church had been dangerous by power and prosperity and therefore this needed to transform for the better, nevertheless , the Chapel held strong to their individual beliefs. With all the constant problems from the Protestants they fought back in what is known as the Counter-Reformation, also called the Catholic Reformation. The objective of both reformations was to replace the same basic cores in the Church that had been lost. The Protestant Innovation depicts the church because ruled within a totalitarian and authoritarian way by damaged popes. They viewed the selling of indulgences, which had been at first given to people that went on the crusades, as being a commercial exploitation to raise funds for nonreligious purposes. The Catholic Chapel on the other hand, viewed this practice as a way of salvation to get the community of Christian believers. Most of the cash raised by selling of indulgences were used to build St . Peter's Church. Luther's followers and other Protestants believed that this was not a religious cause but ways to please the pope's aspire to show his superiority. Luther's belief in Sola Fide damaged the Catholic Church by showing false their particular claims that indulgences remove sin and the sale was eventually eliminated. Pope Paul III set up the Council of Trent to deal with the attacks coming from Protestants. People of the House of worship began to discover its corruptness and the reasons why believers had commenced to doubt therefore they began to reform the Church in their own approach without submitting to Protestant beliefs.
